I will talk about recent results concerning the geometry of shrinking gradient Kähler−Ricci solitons, which relate the metric geometry of the shrinker metric and the algebraic geometry of the underlying manifold. This makes it possible to define geodesics in a space of quadratic growth Kähler potentials. Thus we can show that a shrinker metric is unique on a fixed complex manifold, and its existence requires the underlying manifold to be K-polystable. Based on joint work with Junsheng Zhang.
