Hitchin systems and the Moduli space of Higgs bundles were first studied by N. Hitchin in 1987, and rapidly formed a subject lying on the crossroads of representation theory, symplectic geometry and physics. Hitchin systems came from the study of Yang-Mill's equations and have many good properties. For example, they are symplectic manifolds equipped with Riemannian hyperKahler metrics. Also there is a natural metric called “special Kahler” metric on the base of the the moduli spaces. In this talk, I will introduce how the special Kahler metric and the hyper Kahler metric of Hitchin systems are related. I will also talk about our latest works on Hitchin systems.
