Talk 1
Title: Triply Periodic Minimal Surfaces of genus 3
Abstract: Triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMSs) are minimal surfaces in flat 3-tori. The minimum possible genus for a TPMS is 3. I will review history and recent progress on the constructions of TPMSg3s, highlighting advanced techniques like the gluing construction. I will also outline future steps towards an eventual complete classification.

Title: Interdisciplinary Applications of Triply Periodic Minimal Surfaces
Abstract: All my mathematical works on minimal surfaces has been motivated or inspired by natural sciences, including material sciences, bio-membranes, fluid dynamics, etc. I will talk about how minimal surface theory could be applied to and benefit from natural sciences.
